This high-energy, multi-activity day camp is the perfect way to wrap up the summer!
Day 1: Adventure Journal - Get ready for the rest of the week by creating your own journal to document your adventures! Learn Printmaking, book-binding and more! Explore a variety of paper arts with our Gallery spaces as inspiration. A fun-filled day of kids programming at the Canoe Museum including bannock & cedar tea making, paddle painting, and outdoor activities & games.
Day 2: On the Water – Introduction to canoeing, swimming, and watercolour painting by canoe at Beavermead Park. Meet at Beavermead Park for pickup and drop off. You will see our van from the parking lot.
Day 3: Day of Discovery– Visit to the Turtle Conservation Centre; outdoor nature hike at the Ecology Park and indoor rock climbing at Rock & Rope. Meet at the Canoe Museum for pickup and drop off.
Day 4: National Treasure – Right in our own ‘backyard.’ Over to one of our great local parks that has one of the largest concentrations of Indigenous rock carvings for awesome day of outdoor programming - a guided tour and hike at the Petroglyph Provincial Park and swimming at Quarry’s Bay, Stony Lake (weather dependent). Meet at the Canoe Museum for pick up and drop off.
Day 5: Umiak Journey – An exciting paddling day trip in the Umiak along the Otonabee River, up to Lock 22 and an afternoon at ‘the Hollow’ - fire starting & soapstone carving, drop off at PRC and pick up at Lock 22. Meet at the Peterborough Rowing Club for drop off, Lock 22 for pick up.
