End of Summer Day Camp - New Adventures- August 17-21, 2020
Day 1: So, you Wanna be a Knot Star? - “Climb” Prusik’s Peak, form a Human Knot, try your hand at Butterflies, Timbers, Half-Hitches, and lots more! Get ready for the rest of the week by creating your own knot board. Each day we will add a new knot. Finish the day by making your very own Monkey Paw! A fun-filled day of kids programming at the Canoe Museum.
Day 2: Home on the Water, Home on the Land – Introduction to canoeing, tarps and shelters, and we'll spend some time cooling off in the water. At the end of the day take home your own tarp and the new skills on how to put it up.
Day 3: A Visit to the Prairies- Explore a rare grassland ecosystem, the Alderville Black Oak Savanna. We’ll hike this unique habitat, remove invasive species, become citizen scientists and help with monitoring butterflies!”
Day 4: Turtles and the Circus?! What more could you ask for? We will spend the morning learning how to be circus performers at the Peterborough Circus for the Arts; then we're off for an afternoon at the Turtle Conservation Centre.
Day 5: Voyageur Canoe Journey – An exciting day trip paddling in our 26-foot Voyageur Canoe along the Otonabee River. We’ll take shore rests for fire starting, bannock making, and some Voyageur games.
